Chore Services
We offer a range of services designed to assist older adults in maintaining their independence in their homes.
Our staff and volunteers can assist with various light household maintenance and deep cleaning tasks, including cleaning closets and cabinets, cleaning refrigerators, changing smoke detector batteries, and changing light bulbs.
We may be able to assist with seasonal chores such as leaf raking, window washing, changing storm windows/screens, and shrub trimming.
Gardening and snow removal on a limited basis.
Friendly Visits
We provide conversation and companionship through regular, scheduled visits, offering reassurance and support to older adults and their families.
Homemaker Services
Homemaking services are offered by both volunteers and paid staff to support older adults who need help with light household tasks such as laundry, cleaning, and cooking.
Other homemaking services provided include picking up prescriptions, grocery shopping, picking up mail, meal delivery, picking up library books, delivering medical supplies, and helping with technology and paperwork.
Transportation
Our transportation services, provided by volunteers, include rides to medical appointments, social service or tax agencies, groceries, church, hair appointments, the bank, the laundromat, errands, Helping Hands Outreach meals or exercise program, and other needs as necessary.
Our services are provided based on the availability of volunteers. All our volunteers have successfully passed required background checks and reference checks. Fees for services are determined on a sliding scale relative to income or through the Alternative Care/ Elderly Waiver programs administered by Stearns County. No one will be denied services due to an inability to pay. We believe you appreciate these services and will contribute as you can, whenever you are able.
